Corks - Too

A few posts ago, I showed you a lazy susan that I was working on for my table in my sunroom.  My sunroom has a wine theme going on in it, so this lazy susan, made out of a wine barrel hoop, is perfect for the  center of the table in there.  Well, I finished it this morning, and am really happy with the results.  Let me know what you think of it!

Happy Sunday!

Zentangle - The Beginning

I have taken over being a swap moderator on a yahoogroup for the Zentangle swap.  I have never done Zentangles but have friends that do it and love it.  Okay, well, if I am going to coordinate the swaps for something I have never done, then I am going to research and figure out how to do this.  I didn't realize that Tangling was like Yoga, where there are names for different drawings.  Really cool!  I am now getting addicted and I am only in the beginning of my discoveries!  LOL!

Well, I have started a notebook where I am trying out the Zentagles in alphabetical order.  Here are pics of my "beginnning"!  Don't laugh, just my first attempt at these things.  I used to "doodle" like this when I was in high school and loved it, so I think this is going to catch on real quick!

Quilting Ladybugs

I have a great friend on the West Coast that knows I love ladybugs!  In fact, anyone who even knows me a little, knows that I love ladybugs!  A friend of hers does quilted pictures, so she had her make me one.  So can you guess what it is?  Well, I gave you enough hints!  Yes, it is a ladybug!  I just love this!  I am going to try to make a card that looks like this over the weekend and I will post what I come up with!

Happy Thursday!

Foot and Flowers

If you have followed my blog over the last few years, you will know that I have had two surgeries, now three, over the last two years.  This should be the last one.  I am hopeful that this year, 2013, will be a good year for me - since 2012 was definitely not!  On December 14th, I had major foot surgery and have not been able to walk since.  I will hopefully be able to walk some starting on the 28th, but we will see what the x-rays show.

Here is a picture of my foot when they were taking out the stitches, but before the final cast went back on.

Most people know that my favorite color is purple, so the cast had to be purple.

My husband and daughter, Dave and Brittany, have done so much to take care of me, that I had flowers delivered for them.  I appreciate them so much for all they have had to put up with.

Happy Tuesday!

Corks

I am working on a lazy susan for my dining table that is utilizing wine corks.  I am not finished but thought I would show you how I have begun to put it together.  I love the design I have so far, but if you have other ideas, please let me know.  I have not finished, nor have I glued the corks in place so everything can still be changed.

Happy Monday.

2013 Good Things

This year, I am going to do what I have seen several other people do.  I have set up a jar that will be used for our family to write notes of Good Things that have happened throughout the year.  We will then open this jar up on New Years Eve and read the good things that everyone has jotted down throughout the year.  I think this will be a great thing to do so that we will remember all of the things that happened throughout the year that have made us happy, smile, and just feel good about our lives together.  I hope that you will think about doing something like this as well.

The jar that I used is actually one that a neighbor made for us.  They used chalkboard paper and paint on this jar so this can be used over and over.  Because this was given to us by a neighbor, I thought it was perfect to use since we will also be thankful for the things that others make and give us.

Happy Sunday!

Lamp Parts and a Bird Feeder

A good friend of mine bought me a bird feeder last year that was made of old lamp parts.  The lady that made these bird feeders had her items highlighted at the State Fair and was such a big hit.  I love eclectic items and this is an amazing piece that I have in my backyard.  The birds love it!  I love the colors!
