Inspirational Blog Award

Received this awesome blog award from my friend Elenor!  She is in Sweden, so when you look at her blog you will need to translate it unless you know the language.  She does some amazing work and is in several of my card groups on Yahoo so I have known her for several years.

For this blog award, I will have to tell you 8 things you might not know about me and then put down 8 blogs that inspire me.  I will need to think about this for a few days and then I will post the information.

So, stay tuned...............................................

Ok, so here are the eight things that you may not know about me:

  1. I met my husband on a blind date.
  2. I LOVE ladybugs!
  3. Have a ladybug tattoo on my right foot.
  4. I worked at the Pentagon on the Ballistic Missile Defense System.
  5. My brother is 17 years younger than I am.
  6. My daughter was born on the 50th anniversary of D-Day.
  7. I have a beagle and a boxer.
  8. I was born on the first day of Spring during a snow storm.

Blogs that Inspire me are:

  1. Naomi's blog - A Stamper's Paradise - She does amazing work - and doesn't get a lot of time to do it.
  2. Stephanie's blog - My Card Shack - She designs for Stamping Scrapping, Magnolia Lovers, etc.  She does gorgeous work and is a true inspiration.
  3. Suzanne Dean - Scrap Bitz - She is an awesome designer, friend, and a true artist.  What she does with copic markers is truly inspiring.  She is so talented.

You Rock

This is a simple card that I made for a boy's birthday!  It is using all A*Muse products.  I love how their stamps are distressed.  I love these colors together!  This is a perfect card to post on the night of American Idol!  So hoping that Scotty wins - the hometown boy!!

Girl with Cherries

Here is another Mo Manning digi stamp.  I just love this little girl.  She is so adorable.  As you can see, I used a flicking technique with my copic markers for the grass.  I outlined the entire image with a C2 copic marker to pop the image out.  Of course I used the bow easy to create the bow and some beautiful flowers that I purchased in Gatlinburg, TN over Christmas at the Scrapbook Warehouse.  I love that place.  They have an outlet right next to the store where you can get amazing deals.

Celebrate the Military

My Design Team contribution for Paper This and That this month is a tribute to the military! Please go here and enter the challenge. After all that they have done this month, I think this is totally appropriate!  My husband is a retired Marine so I feel extremely proud in many ways.

I love these tri-shutter cards because they give so much depth and provide multiple spaces to be so creative.

I hope you enjoy this card!

Thank you to our troops!

Flower Pots

I spent a long weekend last weekend in Michigan at a cardmaking retreat put on by StampingScrapping.  My friend Cindy, who owns StampingScrapping, worked her fanny off to make sure everyone had a great time, learned a lot, etc.  I have never laughed so much in my life.  I met a lot of great people, that I now consider good friends.  I took the copic classes from Suzanne Dean as well.  She is so talented!

This is a card that I colored before I took the classes.  There are lots of things I would do differently now.  However, I still love this card, makes me think of Spring!  This card is made using two Mo Manning digi stamps.  I love her work!  Can't wait to post cards that I make after the classess.  Hopefully I will get a chance to create this weekend.  I do need to get organized for my workshop on Thursday night!

Ladybugs

Everyone that knows me, knows that I have an obsession with ladybugs.  I just adore them!  I love them so much that I have a tattoo of a ladybug on my foot.  Well, when I saw this stamp, I had to have it.  This is a very simple card, but I loved coloring in the image.  I love my copic markers!  Not as much as ladybugs, LOL!

I was working in the garden over the weekend removing weeds from the beds with my hubby.  I would not let him remove one that a ladybug was perched on.  She had to leave before we could take that one out!   Reminded me a lot of this image!  Hope you are having a very Happy Spring Day!

Mother's Day

It is almost Mother's Day so I thought I would put up a special card that i made for the occasion.  As you can see, I love the bowmaker by A Muse.  The sentiment set has every sentiment you could need for the year and the botanicals are amazing.

I hope all of you mothers have a great weekend this weekend.  Let yourself be pampered!

A Muse Studio Blog Hop

A Muse Studio Blog Hop

If you are participating in the blog hop, you should have come from Dana Vincent's blog, and if not, then you should start from the beginning with Samantha's blog until you come back to my blog.

This is my contribution for the blog hop.  I have used all A Muse products for this card.
  • Inks:  Currant, Bubblegum and Cranberry
  • Papers:  Bubblegum in dots and checks also, Sky and Ocean
  • Stamps:  A Muse Studio Workshop Sets
  • Ribbon:  Bubblegum
I cannot say enough about the A Muse inks.  They are amazing.  I love how they go on the stamp and paper. You only need to barely tap the top of the ink pad with the stamp and you have great coverage.  Another thing I love is how many sentiment stamps that A Muse has.  They are awesome!  It is also easy to put several stamps together, since they are clear and you use the clear blocks, to make a phrase like I did on the card above.

So what do you think about the bow on the card?

The A Muse bow maker takes the work out of making a beautiful bow.  I can make a bow in under a minute that looks gorgeous every time!

Now, on to your next stop Amber Smith's blog!  Hope you have a great time on your journey today!

Hugs, Meg

Treat Bag

This is a little treat bag that we made in the A Muse Studio workshop last week.  Love this little gumball machine stamp!  We were just getting our feet wet with the copic markers.  We did some minor shading on the machine itself and then just colored the gumballs in various colors.  We will definitely be learning more about the copics as the workshops continue.  I put gummy bears in this package, however, we also had M'n'Ms!  I purchased the ones with the pretzels in them.  If you haven't tried them, they are really good!
