Ocean Breeze

I have been talking to friends about the beach and warmer weather.  This inspired me to create the card that I did this morning.  I am so looking forward to going to the beach and seeing the sea oats swaying in the breeze.

Snowman

Since it is still so snowy across the country, I decided to post my Magnolia snowman.  The flourish stamp in the background is from Stampin Up.  That stamp is so versatile, that I use it often.  I am hoping that Spring will be here soon and snow will be a distant memory!

Wreath

Here is a Spring Wreath card.  I guess I am really wishing for Springtime now.  We had snow this morning, but all was gone by the afternoon.  I love the little peg stamps that made this wreath.

Mermaid Card

Thanks to all that have been leaving comments on my blog.  I am having a really good time working on this.  I need to spend some more time on it, but I will eventually.

Here is a fairy card, actually I believe she is a mermaid.  I love these images because there is so much detail to color.  The flowers and the corner pieces are punch out of paint samples.  I love using paint samples for things.

Winterfest Picture

I stayed in bed all weekend hoping I would get better, and got worse.  Had to go back to the doctor today and have 2 steroid shots, 2 breathing treatments, and more meds.  Hopefully I will be good to go soon.  I am tired of being sick.

Ok, so the image today is not of a card.  Here is a picture of my daughter, Brittany, and her boyfriend, Ben, going to the Winterfest dance over the weekend.  Don't they make a cute couple?

Pneumonia and cards

Well, I found out I have pneumonia tonight.  I knew I was feeling terrible.  Well, I still want to show some cards so, here is a card I did with a tree.  I just love this card.  It was really fun to do.  I love doing lots of layers but don't always do it.

Ladybugs and Tilda

Everyone who knows me knows how much I love ladybugs!  Well, when my friend Snoopy told me that Martha Stewart had a new punch out (and I had a 60% off coupon for the store that sold it), I had to go get the punch.  I did this card in my favorite color as well - purple.  Hope you like this!

Here is the link to the yahoo group:  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Cuttlebug_Card_Exchanges/

Card Craft Group

Here is a card I made to look like a quilt.  I enjoyed making this card.  I have a favor to ask my followers.
I am in the process of taking over a yahoo group where the original owner of it has fallen off the face of the earth and the other person that was keeping it together has become a designer for several companies and does not have the time.  I am hoping that I can rejuvenate this group, so I am asking anyone that would like to join, give comments, give suggestions, etc., please do so.  It is called cuttlebug_card_exchange.  The few people that belong are great and the cards are wonderful.  I hope you will consider joining and swapping with us.

Valentine

Here is a Valentine card using a Michael Strong stamp.  I love those stamps.  I hope that everyone will has a great Valentine's Day (and weekend).  We are supposed to have a dusting of snow tomorrow night.  I am taking my hubby to see Avatar at the IMAX on Saturday afternoon and then we are going to my parent's house for a "Red" dinner with my brother, his girlfriend, and other family.  Should be fun!

Mosaic Technique

Here is a swap that I sent a friend in Australia.  I tried this new technique that I thought was pretty cool.  Do you know all of the leftover scrap rubber you have when you punch out your new Stampin Up stamps and mount them?  Well, I cut the rubber up and mounted it to a piece of plexiglass.  I left very small gaps between the pieces.  I stamped my image on the cardstock, colored it with copics, and then stamped the mosaic with versamark ink on top of the image.  I then sprinkled clear embossing powder on, tapped the paper and then heated it.  Once the embossing was done, I sponged ink on the entire thing, wiped off the ink with a rag, the above effect was complete.  I then embellished, etc.  Hope you enjoy!

Non-traditional Valentine Card

This is a non-traditional Valentine's card that I have made.  I had to make this for a swap.  At first I had a hard time trying to figure out what to do that would still be Valentine's related but I actually really liked it after I finished it.  Hope you like it!

Quilling

I also taught myself how to do quilling this weekend.  I made this card with the flowers I created.  It was fun, but not something I have the patience to do all of the time.

Learning new techniques

This weekend has been all about learning new techniques.  At my card group yesterday, we learned how to make faux suede flowers (on the green card), make ribbon embellishment flowers (on the bookmark), and how to make ribbon roses (on the Valentine card).  We had so much fun and these items were so easy to do.  So much less expensive than buying embellishment flowers at the store.

Saturday, February 6th

Had a great time today with my crafting friends.  It was so much fun to get together.  Drover over there with snow swirling around the car - however, nothing was sticking.  That is the perfect snow!  Here is a card that I made about a week ago.  Will have some new things tomorrow.  Can't wait to show you some new things I have learned.

Weekend

Looks like the weekend is going to be pretty messy with lots of rain.  Saturday I am going to my Stampin Up card group.  Can't wait to do that.  Going to learn more about the Design Studio software also.  I made some Valentine cards last night, but they are for my office so I can't show them yet.  But, I have posted a card that I made a week ago.  Hope you like it!

Tilda with Suitcases

I just love the Magnolia Stamps, and this is one of my favorite cards that I have done.  I just thought the colors were so good together.  Well, I am off to make some Valentine's Day cards.  I might get to post them tonight, but if not, I will post them tomorrow.

Here is a card that I did for a faux sewing swap.  I just love these Magnolia stamps.  Parchment works great with the SU topnote die.

House with Lights

I was not able to create since I worked half of the day and then went to an eye appointment and had my eyes dilated, however, I am posting a pic of my house that we took with all of the snow we got over the weekend.  We haven't taken down the lights yet, since I have been sick and weather has been weird, so we turned them on.  I now have some pics for Christmas cards next year.  Hope you like this.
