Think Pink Cards

I am selling my homemade cards at the new store in my neighborhood called Going Local NC.  This storefront can be found on Facebook if you are interested in what they sell.

Currently, I am selling "Think Pink" cards at the store.  I currently have the following cards in the store but can make anything requested.  I hope you like the cards I have made.

A Sandwich

I received a call from a lady about doing a card for her brother.  Her brother was diagnosed with lung cancer.  He is a very positive and upbeat person though, and has a particular saying that he loves.

She commissioned me to do a card around the saying "enjoy every sandwich"  --  Warren Zevon.

The card that I made for her is below:

The inside of the card is:

I really hope he enjoys the card!  The store touched me!

Think Pink

I have been selling my cards at a local store that only sells items by local artists.  The store is called Going Local NC.  I have been enjoying selling my cards at this store.

My display in the store is shown below:

If you are walking by the store, you will see:

I have a 6 month lease to start and hope that this works well.  The store just opened so it is still getting it's name out.  I also do special orders so if you are interested, I can make a card to order and mail to you.

Tomorrow I will show you a special order card that I have just been commissioned to do.

Bridesmaids Card

I was commissioned to make a set of cards for a wedding for the bridesmaids.  This card will go into the gift bags that the bridesmaids will receive.  The colors for the wedding are black, white and emerald green.  I designed this card.  I am going to see if this is what they are looking for.  Hopefully they will like this card, otherwise I have some other ideas.

Happy Friday!

Beach Scene

Well, if you have looked at my blog over the years you know that I love to go to those Wine and Design places.  This summer my daughter and I went to one and painted a beach scene.  I now have this in my office at work where I can dream of being right there and not working away.

I always share pictures that show my progress - always starting with the blank canvas.

Next we added the horizon, the sky, the beach and the water.

Then we added the path that we would be taking to the water.

Then we added the tufts of seagrass.

Then the shadows.

Then we finished the picture by adding the fence.

I adore this picture.

Happy Wednesday,

Green Swap Card

I joined a swap recently where we had to make a card using items that we had saved.  I save lots of items, so picking what to use was the biggest challenge.  I decided on a Birthday card that I had received.  I disassembled it and used the parts to make a new card.  I also used a ribbon that was attached to an inside of a shirt that I had bought previously.  I also used scrap paper so nothing in this card was new.

I hope you like my Green Birthday Card.

Girlfriends

This has been a very difficult year so far.  I have not posted in a while because we have just had so much loss this year.  Maybe things have taken a turn now but I am not sure and I have not had the desire to do much creating lately.

One thing that I know that has been great this year is spending time with girlfriends, and friends in general.  My besties have made this year fun!  We have done a lot together and have enjoyed all of the good times we spend together.

Love my friends!

Strawberry Biscuits

I took a foodie photography class a couple of weeks ago because I have gotten into taking photo shots of my food at restaurants and the food that I make at home.  I am really enjoying doing this.

This morning I made Strawberry Biscuits.  This is as easy as taking a biscuit recipe and adding 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 cup of chopped fresh strawberries.  Strawberries are abundant this time of year and this is the perfect way to enjoy them for breakfast or even a dessert type dish after dinner.

Hope you enjoy!

My Angel

I have not posted to my blog in quit a while.  This has been a year of loss and my heart has been deeply saddened.  So of course, the first post that I am going to do is going to be a tribute to my beloved boxer that I lost in January.  His name was Murphy.  Cindy, at Stamping Scrapping, has designed some beautiful stamps called Angel Wings.  I chose the Angel Wings with Pawprint to highlight on my card.  I colored it with copic markers and then a Wink of Stella glitter marker.  I used Tim Holtz Glassine paper and Basic Grey Eskimo Kiss paper on the front of the card.

The inside of the card has another paper from the Basic Grey Eskimo Kiss pad, more of the Glassine paper that I cut with the a Spellbinders Die.  When I cut the center of the die out, I decided it looked like a cross so you will see it on the inside of the card.  This gate fold card will be next to the wooden box that holds my precious boy.

Here is the inside of the card:

I hope that you like the card that I have dedicated to my special friend.

Sunflowers

I went to Wine and Design in Wake Forest last night with two of my best friends.  We had so much fun painting and socializing with others there.  As I always like to do, I took progressive pics of the painting that we were doing.  I almost forgot to take a pic of the blank canvas so there is some blue on the canvas.

We started off painting the blue background on the painting.

We then started painting the petals with a mix of orange and yellow.

We added some darker orange on the back petals and lighter orange on the front petals.  Also swiped some white in places.

We then started adding some rust color to the petals.

We then started working on the center of the flower.

We continued to work on the center and added some more white on the petals.

We added some blue onto the petals and finished it up.  This was such a fun painting to do!

Happy Hump Day!

Pirates! Go ECU!

Today we are leaving for Spring Parents Weekend at East Carolina University (ECU).  My husband and I went to ECU and now our daughter is there.  This weekend will be packed with events.  We are going to several presentations, a mixer, a meeting for the Parents Council that we are on, and a basketball game.  It will be good to see Brittany.  I miss her and always love to see her.

So, all of this inspired me to make a Purple and Gold Pirates Card.  We really are diehard ECU fans!

Happy Friday!  Have a great weekend!

Black, White and Red all over!

I bought a new punch at the Archiver's going out of business sale and decided to use it on this card.  I started out making a card that was only going to be black and white.  I then found the ladybug ribbon and then wanted to use that and the new punch.  It was a card that evolved.  I love these three colors together.  I believe it makes a classic looking card!

Happy Thursday!

Spring is Calling

This week the weather is certainly changing from the last few weeks of snow.  It is supposed to be 70 degrees by the end of the week.  I guess now I am getting a little anxious for some Spring weather.  Everyone who follows my blog, and who knows me, knows how much I love ladybugs.  So, this card has a flower on it and some ladybugs.  I was looking through my die cuts and found these items and decided to put them together to make a card.  I think it is a fun card!

Happy Tuesday!

A little bit of Christmas

When I made the Snowman Card yesterday, I got inspired to make another Christmas card.  This is a very simple card but I love the colors and patterns together.  So now you can say I have made my second Christmas card of the year!  LOL!  I am trying to start my Christmas crafting as well this month.  I am going to be prepared for Christmas this year - at least that is the plan so far.  I will show sneak peeks of the items that I am preparing as I am done with them.

Hope you like this cute, simple Christmas Card!

Happy Monday!

Snowy, Snowy, Snowy

With all of the snow that NC has had over the last few weeks, I was inspired to create a snowman card with a new stamp that I purchased over Christmas.  I just love snowman and this stamp was exceptionally cute!

I used some washi tape to make strips in the background, glitter to make the snowman pop, blue around the edges of the die cut to make the snowman seem cold, and snowflakes to help give the impression that the cute snowman was enjoying the snow.

I guess you can now say that I have started making my Christmas cards this year!  LOL!

Happy Sunday!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I sent off some Valentine's Day cards this week to my family!  I had purchased some pink and DSP from Archiver's at there closing sale and used this to make my cards.  I also cut a heart with my Silhouette to use on these cards.  They are simple but cute and were sent with love!

Happy Friday AND Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope you have a fabulous day!
