You Rock House Mouse

This is a new House Mouse stamp that I colored with copic markers.  The purple paper that I used looks like it has rhinestones on it, but it is just the paper.  I outlined the House Mouse with a grey copic to make the colors pop!  The top note die cut I used is from Stampin Up.  It is one of my favorites!  I love using flowers on my cards so being able to use such a big, beautiful, layered flower was exciting.  Not often can I use large flower embellishments.

Waitress Gilli

This is a card that I made using the new Gilli stamps.  This is Waitress Gilli.  These are really cute stamps but I only have a couple of them.  I used rhinestones to look like steam coming from the mug of tea on the front of the card.

The inside of the card had a pocket card that holds a bag of tea.  There is also a cute saying that says:  "I cannot sit and chat with you, the way I'd like to do.  So brew yourself a cup of tea, I'll think of you, you think of me."  I love this saying.  I enjoyed making this card!  It is perfect to send to a special friend that you do not see often.

Travel card and yearly organizing

I have a huge bin full of scrap papers.  I took several papers out of the bin that looked good together to make this card.  I needed to make a swap card on the theme of Travel.  I used the die cut figure with the umbrella as the traveler.  I really need to get into my scrap bin more often to use up the papers.

I have been trying to simplify my life by going through all cabinets, drawers, and closets to declutter and organize.  I have totally reorganized my craft room so that it is easier to access all of my craft items when I am creating.  I also went through all of my books and have set aside a bunch to sell at a yard sale that my community does in the Spring.  I took 3 huge bags of clothes to Goodwill a few weeks ago.  Now I am working on my kitchen and already have 3 bins full of stuff that I will probably also sell at the yard sale.  I am only half way done.  I also did this to my jewelry a month ago and have a bunch of things to sell also.  I am working on better ways to organize the things that I am keeping.  I started this last year and went through everything.  It is amazing that as I do it again this year, I am finding so much more to get rid of.  I would have thought that I was done from last year when I got rid of a ton of stuff.  I am really looking forward to getting this all done.

Tilda in Flower Garden

This Tilda is a swap card that I made that was to use a new product that I had purchased.  I had gotten the new McGill punches that make these gorgeous flowers.  I thought Tilda looked perfect leaning out of the flowers.  The sun was done on my Silhouette.  I enjoyed making these flowers while I was laid up after my foot surgery.  It was something fun to do in bed.  These flowers are so dimensional so I had to mail this card in a box.  I will definitely make more of these flowers.  They are so gorgeous in person.

Tilda with Butterflies

I tried my hand at coloring an African American Tilda this week.  I think she is adorable.  I used a combo of copic colors that is recommended by Suzanne Dean.  I used the Martha Stewart butterfly punch to make some three dimensional butterflies, some magnolia crystal beads, and some prima flowers.  I love how this card turned out.

Watercolor Tilda

I have not updated my blog for a little bit due to surgery that I had last week.  I just never found myself in the same room as my computer and couldn't update easily on my iPad.  Well, things are getting back to normal in the house, so I am posting a few things today.

The Tilda with a suitcase on this card was done by watercoloring with Tim Holtz distress inks.  I have been taking a class online to learn this technique.  I have to say that it is so easy and so much fun.  I had never used an aqua painter before this, and just love it.  No dipping a brush into water all of the time.  I stamped the distress inks onto wax paper and then used the aqua painter to color the image.  I used Stampin Up watercolor paper to stamp the image on. I like using the dotted background.  I have done this with copic markers as well.  I hope that you like what I have done here.
