Here is a Valentine card using a Michael Strong stamp. I love those stamps. I hope that everyone will has a great Valentine's Day (and weekend). We are supposed to have a dusting of snow tomorrow night. I am taking my hubby to see Avatar at the IMAX on Saturday afternoon and then we are going to my parent's house for a "Red" dinner with my brother, his girlfriend, and other family. Should be fun!
Here is a swap that I sent a friend in Australia. I tried this new technique that I thought was pretty cool. Do you know all of the leftover scrap rubber you have when you punch out your new Stampin Up stamps and mount them? Well, I cut the rubber up and mounted it to a piece of plexiglass. I left very small gaps between the pieces. I stamped my image on the cardstock, colored it with copics, and then stamped the mosaic with versamark ink on top of the image. I then sprinkled clear embossing powder on, tapped the paper and then heated it. Once the embossing was done, I sponged ink on the entire thing, wiped off the ink with a rag, the above effect was complete. I then embellished, etc. Hope you enjoy!
This weekend has been all about learning new techniques. At my card group yesterday, we learned how to make faux suede flowers (on the green card), make ribbon embellishment flowers (on the bookmark), and how to make ribbon roses (on the Valentine card). We had so much fun and these items were so easy to do. So much less expensive than buying embellishment flowers at the store.
