Mosaic Technique

Here is a swap that I sent a friend in Australia.  I tried this new technique that I thought was pretty cool.  Do you know all of the leftover scrap rubber you have when you punch out your new Stampin Up stamps and mount them?  Well, I cut the rubber up and mounted it to a piece of plexiglass.  I left very small gaps between the pieces.  I stamped my image on the cardstock, colored it with copics, and then stamped the mosaic with versamark ink on top of the image.  I then sprinkled clear embossing powder on, tapped the paper and then heated it.  Once the embossing was done, I sponged ink on the entire thing, wiped off the ink with a rag, the above effect was complete.  I then embellished, etc.  Hope you enjoy!

  3. I LOVE this technique! I don't have any of my leftover rubber, but the self adhesive craft foam is supposed to work, too. I need to try this, I love the samples I see with it!
