Martini - A new favorite

A friend of ours is opening a new restaurant - A Seafood Bar and Grill - and we went to a practice run before the opening Saturday night.  These are always fun evenings because your meal is free, you get an appetizer, entree and dessert.  All you have to do is pay for your drinks and the tip!  I had the most fabulous dinner last night.  We started off with raw oysters which were amazing and had amazing sauces.  I didn't realize that oysters could taste so different from different places.  We tried three different kinds, two of which were from different waters in NC and one that was from Florida.  I wish I had taken pictures of the amazing food, but I hadn't eaten most of the day and was halfway through my meal when I thought about it. My dinner was an amazing tuna steak with a mango chili sauce, fried green tomatoes, and an amazing mac and cheese that had gouda and heirloom tomatoes.  The dessert was key lime pie with a blackberry sauce.  Well, I was truly spoiled last night.

But the drink I had was amazing - it was a pomegranite and guava martini with guava foam and an edible orchid on top.  Here is a pic of my amazing drink!  One of these pics is taken with a flash and one is not.  They both look good but not as good as this drink tasted and looked in person!

Happy Monday!

Hugs, Meg
